hey i was just wondering if every1 elses Fuel Gauge on the 55s are playing up like mine?

If i was to buy and aftermarket one and replace will this solve the problem?

Cheers Josh

take the wire off the sender at the tank, put a test lamp or globe to a good earth put the sender wire to the otherside see if the gauge works.

if it works check tank eath.

if it does not work check wire from gauge to tank.

I had this problem in my car and the little barrel that is suppose to float in your tank had a tiny pin hole and would sink to the bottom, therefore the gauge would always appear empty. I'd suggest to plug the wire from the sender to some source of power to check if your gauge works and if it does then check the float for leaks by removing the sender from the tank and give it a shake to see if its full of fuel. If it is then i'd suggest taking it to a professianal to fix it or see if you can get a bit of cork to replace it, I've been told some cars come out with cork as the float.

Cheers, Mick
