AJC Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 Hi All, I am looking at purhasing a set of HS4 1.5" SU's bolted to a 'K' lynx manifold for an essentially stock 4k motor. Motor is currently running stock exhaust set up. Questions is this; Can I run this set up with the stock exhaust or do I need to run extractors to fit the SU's and 'K' lynx manifold? Any help is appreciated.. Thanks, Anthony Quote
Redwarf Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 You don't need to as such. They'll run, however good system will make a big difference. Why not start with an exhaust and then think about a cam and carbies? That is the more logical progression. Don't forget a good heat shield for the carbies or you'll be stopping to let the car cool down every 15 minutes. Quote
AJC Posted December 7, 2007 Author Report Posted December 7, 2007 Thanks for the info. Now the proud owner of a set of SU's with heat sheild. Exhaust to be done soon... Quote

Redwarf Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 (edited) Hey, could you tell us how it goes? I'm interested in running twin SUs on my 4k aswell and want to see if its a good option? Thanks :lolcry: They run extremely well. Much better than the 32/36 Weber convo that everybody does. Not as good as DCOE Weber/ Dellorto install though, but half the price to set up. Like webers though, SU's like a good dyno to work properly. Once done though, you don't have to touch them. Edited December 20, 2007 by Redwarf Quote

I`ll back that up 150% i had mine dynoed on Dec the 28th 2006 and havent had to touch them since. I love the sound of su`s on a K motor or on anything for that fact but in saying that if i wasn`t changing to to EFI and supercharged and i had an unlimited budget then i would go webers. stu.
