Am looking at harnesses, at the moment looking at FIA approved 6 point 3 inch ones (it's on the wish list, would like but have no money for)

What's the differences between them? Some have T-type crutch straps, others have some loop system, others have moustache style ones...

And then some are listed as "saloon" style, others "special stage"...

Umm...

Also, have noticed that DemonTweeks also sell these for a fair bit less than what you'd get them here for... A Sabelt 6-point, with pads, not inc shipping and tax and duty will set me back AUD230, where's the going rate here in Oz seems to be about $500 or more for a 6-point...

Hmm, interesting. Called up a shop too see how much the identical harness was here, and it's AUD655. Strange thing is, it's cheaper to buy the 4-point, and then add the crotch strap (comes up to about AUD624). I wonder why... Tried the same trick on DT, came up a fair bit more expensive.

Also, I think there are 2 main types of them harnesses - saloon style and single seater style. Main differences appear to be that the single seater style have really short shoulder straps...

best thing is to check what you need to get for what you want to do, and be care ful buying blets from here, regs are changing and iv seen people trying sell harnesess cheap that wont meet future standards. maybe contacting a local car club could be an idea. if you find some where in nz that has a deal your keen on let me know and ill call them, may even get a discount for ya

iv just ordered a set for a tech here, $225 nz for 4/5 point latch type

mounting single seate rtype in a sallon could get tricky!!
