hey folks,

been looking at too many pictures of 49 chev and mercury sleds, and I got momentarily inspired.

So I knocked up a crude trace of a bagged 10 with spats. Something different hahaha. Wouldnt mind building one like it one day.

Opinions anyone?

It makes them look older I think. I am not much of a fan of those wheel cover things. Though I think the old school KE10's would look decent with them.

Needs a top chop.

Very true.

I've thought through that before, and it would be an absolute feat. Most sleds can get away with it because they have flat front glass and they lay the rear screen down to avoid cutting it.

Would be cool though. Even 2 inches would do it....

if you do a chop top of just 2 inches wouldn't that mean you need to chop about 1 inch off your head! That's only if you aren't a short ass of course. But i like the idea. What would you do with the front grille as it would definately have to be customised to complete the look.

For interests sake, a ke15/17 sprinter coupe has a 3" lower roofline than a ke1x sedan/wagon. The windscreen and front pillars are laid back more, and the door frames front windows and quarter glass are different to suit. Yes there is a lot less headroom in my ke15 compared to my ke16. They all share the same front screen.

A mate had a ke10 once, and it had the seats lowered in it. The chassis boxing bit under the front of the seat had been cut out, replated and welded, to allow the seats to sit a couple of inches lower.

Polycarbonate.

Yeh, Polycarb is what I was thinking too. Lay the front screen down to get some extra rake, ditch the corner windows on the doors and fit poly side and rear glass. Even better, go rod style and go sans door windows!

I figure you could shape it easy enough with a heat gun and drape it over the existing glass.

As for seats, just get a set of stockies that have sagged! I'm 6"3 and they do me fine!

Front grille - Desoto teeth of course, like this sucker:

I'm thinkin about getting a set made for the wagon. If it works well, I'll see who else wants them.

Not sure how it would look with the lip around the wheelarch. I'll make up a cardboard mockup first and see how it goes.

Need a louvered bonnet and a visor too.
