I emailed Blits.. Which is like a body kit shop though they can make fiberglass bonnets that are legal with QLD transport..

I asked her how much just one bonnet with a bonnet scoop would cost. She replied $3,000. I almost fell off my chair.

I asked her if I could get a bunch of people would they lower the price.

They said yes, would need at least 10 people. Though all have to be the one hood.. She reckons $770 or maybe less..

I was wondering who would seem interested it buying one? I know they wont do much, though just seeing if anyone would be interested.

I think you'd be struggling to find 10 people interested. Though it is a pretty cool idea especially for those who race their ke30/55's with it being lightweight and all. Which shape would you be getting made up as there are many different variants?

Cheers

Matt.

I myself would need a pic of how it would look like. You say scoop, I'd like to know what type and if it'd suit my car/s.

Personally, I'd say get KE30 bonnets, they look better.

Well as long as it fits to my car I'm all good for it. I'm sure we can all get different scoops. As I want more of a big twin nose looking bonnet scoop.. Many different people have different taste.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have to be. I'm pretty sure they will make each bonnet and scoop separate from one and another. Though it just has to be of the ONE bonnet. So they can mold the bonnet. Then you can add whichever scoop you would want to each different bonnet.

Try looking into parts for speedway cars - I know there's a guy up here (Darwin) that gets complete fibreglass front ends for his KE55 (a clamshell assembly) for about $500. I think bonnets on their own were about $200-300. Slightly less than $3,000 anyway. :sob:

QLD have different laws. Blits is the only place that QLD Transport will actually allow you to have a fiberglass bonnet. Anywhere else and the police can defect you. Not sure how NT laws work..
