Ke70 Original Rear Shock Lengths?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone knew the stock, original lengths extended and compressed of the KE70 rear shocks?

The cars going down between 1.5-2inches and I want to use the VB-VL FE2 rear shocks which are 517mm extended and 307mm compressed(found on www.ae86drivingclub.com.au)

I'd like to know if they are actually any shorter and will do the job properly.

Thanks very much,

Ethan

Rear Shocks: I have listed a few with a stud at one end and a ferrule (round thing) at the other. Some in the list are a perfect fit, others may need a different bush. Decide your length and order from any brand.

Extended Length / Compressed length / Vehicle

564 , 339 AE86, TE72, AE95, (too long to keep lowered spring captive)

517 , 307 KE30

517 , 307 Commodore wagon 78-92 , (good fit)

504 , 314 Commodore wagon 93-97,

482 , 297 XT130, RA60, KE36, KE38, KE70 wagon & early Holden , (perfect length and fitment)

478 , 288 Escort sedan&coupe 74-82,

473 , 288 Tarago 90's ,

415 , 256 Suzuki 4WD front, (talked about)

Koni Special (red) or KYB excel-g will be available for almost all models. The probem is that Koni Sport (yellow) and KYB AGX adjustable shocks will only be made for some models.

But there are a tonne of models to look at if you are willing to change a bush and make a spacer here and there. I am now trying to fit Koni Sport rear shocks to suit a 1995 Starlet/Paseo. I have to change the bottom bush, thats about it.

pretty sure ke70 rear suspension is the same as ae86

so 564-339

I'm planning on doing this to, I'm not sure what to go for though, RA60 shocks or VB-VL

i think i might go RA60 they are abit shorter and i plan on having my car fairly low, tho not as low as those sierra shocks, hmm

u got a pic of what 2 inches lower looks like in the rear? id like to know just how much lower my car is lol

Hey,

Thanks very much for that :D That sounds about right.

I ended buying Commodore FE2 wagon shocks and there way shorter than the originals.

Thanks for that.

I'd send you a pic if I had the little bugger done, I'll be going down 2 1/2" now when I get to it. I ended up with KYB VB-VP Commodore FE2 wagon shocks, don't quote me but there roughly 100mm ish shorter.

Now if the KE70 has the same rear suspension as an AE86, Maybe I can get an adjustable panhard rod from one of them?
