  1. i once dcropped a small nut down the shifter hole without realiseing and thought the box was stuffed because it woudlnt go into 1st or 3rd at times, worth a look lol
  2. Gday people. I rescently got a ke20 that had a stuffed ignition barrel, i got a new one through Burson and the product i got is "Nice Products" The part number i received was NIB 112. It is not the same and willl not fit into the ignition assembley, I had a quick look on there website and can't seem to find the one I'm after. Just wondering if anyone else has had to chase up a new keybarel for the ignition on their 20 before. Because it seams like these people may not have the right item.
  3. in Rostrevor mate gimme a buzz n we can organise a time, cheers -Alex

    Spotted

Spotted myself picking up a new E7 ;) back in the corolla game ;) ALso spotted on grand junction road a baby blue e7 that had been in a front end collision, fairly serious hit too. anyone on here?
  6. all u need is the box and a 5 speed shifter i believe. i could be wrong about that tho,
  7. id say 3.8 would be the manuals and 4.1 the auto
  8. hey guys just wondering how i go about removing the key barrel from my wreck ke70. someone wants to buy it for there car it looks like the whole thing is pressed onto the steering column
  9. good work gettin them off, they can be bloody tough if theyve never been touched, i ended up pulling my diff out with tailshaft still atattched coz i coudlnt get em and then still couldnt get them when it was out useing long spanners and pipe, ended up snappin the bolts lol
  10. for the rears cut the free height to about 250mm and then go from there. i have 235mm height 4.5kg spring in the rear and the guard sits about flush with the tyre also had falcon springs in there before that were about 240mm they sat about the same
  11. yeahp EA-EL rear springs also fit in the rear of the ke70. so get choppin  i cut mine to about 240mm free height thought it was pretty good, sat just a lil bit above the tyre, low but not stupid low also make sure you put the part of the spring where the coils are closer together at the bottom, stops them from becoming unseated
  12. cheers guys well ig ot a 4 spd shifter from u pull it (farkin 33 bucks) and it works, i was driving n now 1st and 3rd are very hesitant to stay in gear or even go into gear just grinds n shit, i prob low on oil tho only put about 1.3 litres in, gotta tax some more fromw ork lol
  13. Ok well long story short ive just put a 4 speed into my ke70 corolla as i smashed second in my 5 speed, the 4 speed i had spare didnt have a shifter so i tried putting the 5 speed shifter on it, well it bolts up, but it wont shift into different gears, maybe coz of the angle the shifter is bent at or the length of the part under neath anyway can someone please confirm for me whether you can use a 5 speed shifter on a 4 speed or are they different? Chheeerss -Alex
  14. the flywheel bolts are going to be aloott tighter than clutch pressure plate bolts, one thing i did once to get a flywheel off a motor when it was out of a car, was wedge a large screwdriver into the flywheel teeth and to the ground and then jump on a larger breaker bar. when putting the flywheel back on you should also torque the bolts correctly with a roque wrench
  15. put a tyre under it, without a rim, just the tyre, and once the gearbox is ready to be pulled out, get behind it at the back of the car, and pull it hard so it pulls out and falls onto the tyre, can be easier with a helper at the front, ke boxes are not to heavy, 2 people under the car should be able to pull it out onto a tyre fairly smoothly, but be careful still!
  16. yeah and they are quite good for a ke70, tho with a 5mm spacer i got defected for track (cop wrote on defect notice, wheels to not protrude from guard)
  17. also a 7 inch wide rim is 17.5mm wider on each side, Eg a 0 offset 7 inch rim will fill out the gaurd 17.5 mm more than a 0 offset 6 inch wide rim
  18. a 5 ml spacer will clear the strut easy y0,
  19. check your panhard rod to see if its bent lol
  20. yes thanks guys, i am well aware it may damage my coil, not overly fussed i have many spares
  21. well its working now, had a few simple problems first of all the main ignition lead had a hgh resistance value so i changed it and bam i had spark again then it was a matter of putting the dizzy in at tdc and aligning the rotor with lead 1, i had to turn it 180 degrees after that as it jsut backfired. and then it worked.. as for the high/loud idling, the choke was seized on... lol
  22. ok soo the car was running and i decided to change the dizzy to another one i had now that the dizzy is out i can't get it back in pointing the right way on tdc, i didint mark it but i checked wher it should be pointing on tdc with my shed 4k. it only goes in all the way in 2 locations 180 degrees opposite eachother and each one wil not start, also i am not getting a spark from the coil reguardless of dizzy position....?
  23. i don't know if its 4.1 but its a higher ratio than a manuak diff yes, maybe 4.1? and manual is 3.9? i think
  24. yeah on a plate just behind the dizzy on the block it will have 4kXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx or 3kXXXXXXXXXXXXXxXXX
