Buying Toyota Corolla Ae82

Featured Replies

Hey guys about to sell my ford laser ke TX3. And am really interested in ae82 rollas. And i really need to find a car asap as i will need a car before i sell mine next weekend. Is there any points you guys can give me when looking at rollas? I have found this one and it has already had 20v conversion done http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...=80&trecs=8 is there anything i should look out for?

mine gives me all 3 :hmm:

what to check... check (rear) guards, wheel well and A-pillars for rust - also will appear around boot hinges

being a car that has probably has not had the easiest life, make sure you test the clutch/synchros and check for signs of BHG. also keep an eye on the exhaust for blue smoke on cold start and also when warm during a spirited drive (see if you can get someone to drive behind you) this will tell you if the valve stem seals or piston rings are stuffed.

also another thing that shits me and is common with these cars is collasped driver's seat

other than that, you're pretty sweet - might have a small issues here and there, but what car doesn't hehe

Just make sure you buy one with a twincam already in it. A factory twincam one has better brakes and suspension I think. Best to buy a factory kitted one to avoid any mod ssues with the D.O.T. If you have your opens you can get whatever. If you find one with a GZE they go really really well!
