kay_eee_two_zero Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 hey guys, i'll be getting my hands on a ae101 4agze very soon so i'll be also needing a t50 gearbox to slot in my ke20's tunnel. the problem is my ke20 is auto at the moment, so i'm not quite sure what direction i should be going in terms of the pedal boxes. So far my options, that i know of, are to a) get a pedal box from ke20/ke55 and convert that to handle a hydraulic clutch. (sending lines, modify to attach clutch master on it etc) b) get a us ae86 pedal box and modify that to fit into my car, reason being that a us ae86 pedal box would have the clutch master on the drivers side to allow more room around the engine c) get a fully customed pedal box with the clutch and brake master mounted behind the pedal box. my friend mentions d2racing makes something like this. I'm interested to see what you guys have done or suggest that i do, since i only found out the above from a quick search and some mates. Quote
Jono Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 (edited) just get a ke20 manual pedal box. bolt or weld a plate onto the firewall to stop it flexing. are you leaving it SC or turboing it? as for clearance, i used a NG pajero clutch master cylinder. Edited April 30, 2008 by Jono Quote
kay_eee_two_zero Posted April 30, 2008 Author Report Posted April 30, 2008 i'm planning to keep it sc for a while so i could use the room on the supercharger side. did you start off with an auto ke20 as well? I'm just wondering how hard the combined task of fitting in a manual pedal box and modifying it to be hydro acceptable is. Quote
Jono Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 mine was manual to begin with. swapping the pedal box isn't hard, just a pain in the arse. mounting a clutch master cylinder and making the clevis fit on your pedal is ok, but depends on how you reinforce the firewall. Quote
