hey i have a older thread bout oil coming up thru the carby and i have very recently bought a 32/36 weber in replacement of the stock carby. before i put the weber on i want to fix this oil problem so i don't ruin it.

so i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to hooky up a catch can properly etc etc  (will most likely buy an eBay catch can but dunno yet)

all help appreciated lol

oil/air separator? pcv - catch can - inlet manifold?? pcv - catch can - breather?? pcv - catch can - atmosphere?? breather on catch can??

please help

i have a 32/36 webber on my 4k, the catch can setup ive got has 2 fittings on the can, one goes to the breather ontop of the tapet cover (the closest one to the front) and the other fitting is goin to the pcv valve, then on top of the catch can there is a air breather venting to the apmosphere, but ive been pulled up for it by the cops and i have to run it back to the intake before the carby

Most states will require the breather to be run into the inlet (damn emissions...), but as it is passing through the separator/can, it shouldn't present too much problem...

As an extra security, fab up a hat to sit on the breather, and run a pipe into the inlet from there... the filter will take out most of the particularly nasty stuff and stop it messing up your carb.

The pc valve must always be connected to a vacuum source, otherwise its just there for good looks  .

My personal opinion is id go oil breather (rocker cover)/ catch can/ air cleaner assembly.

cheers phatke30!

ps. leave the pc valve the way its suppose to be.

The DB King - even though thats sounds easy and all that i would prefer to stay legal. cause if i get defected for it i don't wanna go back to normal set up and have oil n shit comin up thru my good carby.

Yeah mate, pretty much. Either that or run the breather from the catch can to the air cleaner assembly if it has one(outlet that is). You may just have to check with your rta as different states have different laws. With the other outlet on the catch can, just block it off with a 'vacuum block off cap' or 'heater block off cap'.

cheers phatke30!
