Are a ke30 and ke55 diff the same? I'm looking at a ke55 on sunday and may borrow an axle out of it if it will suit.

hey mate I'm pretty much sure that they are the same but someone will correct me if I'm wrong

There are two types of diff. Borg warner, and the Jap diff.

 

Early ke30s had the jap diff, Late 30s and 55s have the Borgy.

 

JAp diffs open from the front, and borgys open from the back. Also jap diffs have a more rounded shape, where the borgs have a more squared shape.

Good to know. It's a borgy then. I got an axle so it is all good now.
