never Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 Hey Guys, Thought I would post this in here as some of you have seen my car in person and can give me some advice. I am looking at getting some new tyres and due to my rims (which i love) I don't have the widest selection. The tyre size I need is 205/60 13 and its rather hard to come by. Few I have found in that size are hankook (never really liked hankooks), bf goodrich, and yokohama make the y352 in that size. The yokies have an old school design and the lettering is outlined in white. Leaning towards those but dunno bout the writing in white. On the one hand I think the old school look is awesome but my car is fairly standard looking and don't know if the tyres would take away from that and make it look like a wannabe race car. Would really like something with a thin whitewall on it but can't get anything in that size. So yeah opinions please. Quote
silverra23 Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 sometimes with those yokie style with letters on the side, the outer is white writing and the inner is black. check to see whether you can simply reverse them so that the white writing is on the inside never to be seen... Quote
Redwarf Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 ^^^^ Yep he's right. I ran them years ago, and always with the white lettering to the inside. Quote
bernieboy Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 I've got a pair of Federal Formoza FD1 205/60R13s which cost me $95 each from Bob Jane Taylors Lakes. Good budget tyre. Or try their other tyre which also come in 205/60R13 Federal SS621 which have a similar tread pattern to my old Bridgestone SF340 which you cannot get for 13s anymore :fuzz: . Have a look for yourself see what you think Federal tyres Quote
never Posted August 31, 2008 Author Report Posted August 31, 2008 Thanks for the replies. Like the idea with the yokohamas of having the white writing on the inside. Work bonus finally came in so best get spending! Quote
78_7kRolla Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 Yes, definately go for the yoko's. You can see what looks better on the car and then make your decision from there. Good luck with the spending mate. Quote
