MR AKE70 Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Well my starter motor was always a little suss as sometimes you would go to start it and you would here a clicking sound in the dash area but nothing, but i was told it could be the solonoid and that flicking the key real fast would get it to work, this was correct for several months, but as time when on and the flicking of the ignition continued, you would do it a few times and hear the clicking sound then it would stop, than no sounds at all and then it would not start, then if you waited 10min sometimes more or less then it would just start first go, eventually i grew sick of this and thinking it was the starter motor solonoid, replaced the starter motor, but unfortunitly it's still happens, and now it is completely not starting. My question is what could be the problem?, do they run a relay? where is it? what other problems could it be? Any advise or help would be greatly appreciated. :D Quote
Medicine_Man Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 As Nick said, if you don't have a relay on your starter motor, fit one as soon as you can, lack of power to the starter motor is no good.. (providing thats whats wrong its a fairly simple fix). Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 auto elec + $150 = reconditioned starter = no problems Quote
VLt Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 $140 = a new starter motor.... :D but I would check the wires first as the exhaust likes to melt them a little... Quote
