  1. Mine is doing the same, have cheaked the power to the coil, there is power but not 12v, just don't give spark to distributor???
  2. well a few weeks ago the alternator decided to give up the ghost, to be expected i guess, i was looking abit worn out, anyway, went to the wreakers to get one, went to fit it, found out the tension adjusting bracket was not inline, so i just hammered the smeg out of it, to make it straight, as any bodgy hoon would do, went about fitting it, to find, it was stuffed, pasted the 7 day return, money down the drain. Next adventure, off to repco to buy a new bosch unit, i ring first to find where they would have one in stock. enoggera store it is, get there, "O no, it would be up the road at checkpoint, repco owns them too" ok, up the road i go. ask for the alternator, out they come with it. wrong mounting sizing, single plug-in wiring, flat belt drive not v belt, they ring up and confirm its the right one fron the part no. on the unit, its correct. Well its not. So off i go again, give up on the bosch and go for the champion unit that they also had in stock at the moreyfield store, off i go, got v belt pulley, old school wire up points, mounts look right. Sold Once again pull out the wreaker alternator, re wire the new alternator, go to put it in...... Once again the simplist job failed, the mounts on the new alernator are too wide for the braket attached to the motor. Now to the question, Can you get a bloody aternator bracket for the block that is internally 95mm wide?? If not who the hell has a alternator for a KE70 1.3 ltr 4k motor!!!? End rant, thanks for reading. Scotty.
  3. Thanks bud, i guess the next question is who makes them? are they for another car and modified or is custom made the way to go.
  4. yeah sorry i want to put the smaller head light and grill setup in the later model that has the bigger head lights. I'm in brisbane alexandra hills to be precise.
  5. is it a simple job of converting the ke71 to a ke70 by just replacing the panels, head lights and grill, or is there more involved structurely? Also who wants ke71 cloth seats front and rear???
  6. I'm thinking of running bolt-on flaires on the ke70, has anyone done it?
  7. The thing that worries me with the rotary is reliability? What fails on them? if you build one to handle 30psi of boost and run it at 15 well it be more reliable? and well it suffer in running smoothness? I might have to ask these question on a rotary site. i just want to know what I'm in for.
  8. Arrr, the rotor is looking better and better at the moment.
  9. I'm thinking of setting up a ke70 drift car and was deciding on what motors to use, i did seriously want to run a rotary as i have always wanted one, but the SR20det motor and the 4agze motor have come into consideration. Now the thing is if i decide that the compertition/cost become too great with drift, that i would just turn it into a 1/4 mile car. So i would want to have a motor that i could get high ten second quarter miles out of, thus why i liked the rotary motor idea. But the question is: Could the Sr20det or the 4agze (with turbo rather then super charger) do a 10sec 1/4, in a ke70? Would the costs to acheive this be too high compaired to the rotary? Would there be reliability problems compared to the rotary? Thanks guys. scott
  10. Well when you ship it over can i throw some DX chrome bumber bars into the back seat for me please?
  11. Well my starter motor was always a little suss as sometimes you would go to start it and you would here a clicking sound in the dash area but nothing, but i was told it could be the solonoid and that flicking the key real fast would get it to work, this was correct for several months, but as time when on and the flicking of the ignition continued, you would do it a few times and hear the clicking sound then it would stop, than no sounds at all and then it would not start, then if you waited 10min sometimes more or less then it would just start first go, eventually i grew sick of this and thinking it was the starter motor solonoid, replaced the starter motor, but unfortunitly it's still happens, and now it is completely not starting. My question is what could be the problem?, do they run a relay? where is it? what other problems could it be? Any advise or help would be greatly appreciated. :D
  12. i would attemp the conversion myself so cost it just for hardware, and eng. certificating.
  13. hi all, I'm seeing the bank manager soon and need a rough price on the conversion, SR20 turbo 5 speed, hilux diff lsd, or other (please suggest?) brakes??, suspention??, fuel system??, engineer cert.?? and any other surprize costs?? your help will be greatly appreciated. :)
