Red_rocket Posted September 18, 2008 Author Report Posted September 18, 2008 Well like i said, i have new leads on there way Also i am running a Microtech LT-10s and as the wiring diagram says, Cylinder 1, 2, 3, 4 but i have canged them around to see if that would make a difference! but i still have no luck! I guess now i just have to wait for them leads and if it turns out to be no good then i think it will be time to take to the mechanic! Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Yeah I'm starting to run out of idea for you now mate! :) Quote
Red_rocket Posted September 19, 2008 Author Report Posted September 19, 2008 Yeah i know, i am going to book it into the mechanic where i got the computer system from and let him find the trouble! I will post on here what was wrong with it when i find out! :y: Thanks for everyone input and help! :o Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 have you also checked to see if you haven't got some siezed injectors!? :y: Quote
Red_rocket Posted September 21, 2008 Author Report Posted September 21, 2008 I have replaced the injectors with some new 330cc injectors Quote
Red_rocket Posted October 1, 2008 Author Report Posted October 1, 2008 Well after all the work i had spent and stressing out, the problems that it came down to was the Microtech computer needed to be mapped and the injectors... The Fuel injectors where flooding the motor that bad that the spark plugs could not ignite! the injectors had been turned down to allow minimal fuel at idle, they said there was that much carbon build up on the plugs and the exhaust. The car is finally running and sounds great with the lumpy cam :y: and is now getting its final dyno tune then we will see how much power this baby really has! Thank you all for the input and problem solving! will post back on how the dyno tuning goes! :hmm: Gerard Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 Good to hear you got it sorted mate! :hmm: Yeah keep us posted on dyno figures. I made 100rwkw on 10psi as a reference. :y: Quote
Red_rocket Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 Well its bad news and bad news.... I was told from the dyno tuner that the car is only pulling 70 rwkw.. He also told me that the advance and the retard timing on the car is so negative and so advance or something and the compression ratio is really high, like 11:1 or something, he may think there is a cracked piston!? on deceleration its blowing insane amounts of smoke! :hmm: What are peoples thoughts? where can i go from here? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 My carby turbo setup made 70rwkw on 8psi, so its not too shabby. What exactly have you got in they way of ignition? Electronic dizzy I'm guessing? And is it ECU controlled? and is the dizzy locked? Quote
Red_rocket Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 yeah well.. 70rwkw on a fuel injected inst good at all The computer side of things is all ok it had major timing issues the guy said. The ecu controlls both ignition and fuel Yes it is a electronic dizzy and yes it has been welded! Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 If its ECU controlled ignition then the "computer side of things" can't be OK!!! Your timing issue is a mapping issue!!!! :hmm: I'm running 28o BDTC while on boost. We put 32o in it, didn't knock just made less power! Quote
Red_rocket Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 Ah ok then well... more problems then! when the motor was running the carby it was getting 94rwkw with the dyno print out not sure how much boost was going through it. now i have the fuel injection running 70rwkw something isn't rite! Quote
Red_rocket Posted October 4, 2008 Author Report Posted October 4, 2008 Update.. The car doesn't blow smoke anymore due to a vacuum hose going straight into the rocket cover! The cam shaft needs replacing with a turbo one. The one that's in there at the moment is too "Hot" for the engine and a smaller cam will give me more power. Where can i get a cam now haha? :hmm: but the car is getting High 80rwkw and drivable! Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 :hmm: Normally the best turbo cam is a standard cam! :y: Quote
Red_rocket Posted October 8, 2008 Author Report Posted October 8, 2008 well.. I'm looking for a stock 5k camshaft.. Can anyone help me out? Cheers, Gerard Quote
