KJ's Rollas Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 I am trying to fit my Webber DCOE carby to my 4K, but the throttle cable doesn't match up. the linkage hits on the manifold and it's on the wrong side. Iwould like to know how others have fitted webbers to their 3-4K's and if there are any bracket kits available or do I have to custom make something up? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Cheers, KJ :-) Quote
luke.t. Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 hey mate my throttle cable is mounted with a strip of traffic sign lol Make your own up shouldnt be to hard... good luck :bash: luke Quote

KJ's Rollas Posted November 11, 2008 Author Report Posted November 11, 2008 okay, and where do you rekon I can get a bracket to hold the cable from? I have been doing a bit of searching on google and some e-bay shop had linkage kits for datsun.. not sure if they'd fit corolla too? They're not cheap for a bunch of metal brackets though and I don't know if I'm going to need all of the bits. The carby came of a Cordia and it's setup different. the throttle linkage hits on the manifold atm. Are there any easier ways to mount it? KJ :-) Quote
toyota_ae71 Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 hey mate, i know there is a twin dcoe linkage availble at repco for about $150 not sure on single dcoe tho, worth a try?? Cheers Quote
Jono.B Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Go Find some scrap alloy, and find an angle grinder, easy to bend easy to grind, my bracket has held up for over a year now... seriously angle grinder+ alloy can make anything, I used one to create a bracket to hold my mates hi pressure water hose in his vr4 when it was boosting round 30psi. Be creative and have fun :bash: Quote
KJ's Rollas Posted November 17, 2008 Author Report Posted November 17, 2008 ok, so I can make up my own bracket - yeah that's not a problem, but next question is: what dimensions should it be, how does it fit etc.. etc..?? Does anyone have pics of a DCOE carby that they have fitted to a 3K/4K and pics of the brackets that they have made up? Let me know! Cheers, KJ :-) Quote
KJ's Rollas Posted January 2, 2009 Author Report Posted January 2, 2009 Well it's the new year, and this project is definately on the top of my list! I have been told by a few people that if I get a longer Throtle cable (around 55-60") that it should be sufficient to go around to the other side of the carby and connect the throtle that way, otherwise I am out of idea's as to how to fit the weber. Has anyone got pics of a weber side draught fitted to a 3-4-5K that I can have a look at so I can see how you did it? Cheers, KJ :-) Quote
TRD ke70 Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 we made our own, but it's for an uprite engine but it'll give you some idea. we welded the cable piece from a standard carb on to the linkage. have a look though the rest of the gallery there's another photo, maybe a better angle. engine Quote
