ancullen Posted April 10, 2005 Report Posted April 10, 2005 I've heard that the intake manifold on the 4AGZE is absolutely crap (very restrictive), and that improving it helps unleash extra horsepower. Does anyone here have any experience with this? I was thinking along the lines of using a 20v head, thereby making my engine a 4AGZE 20v (as I believe has been done before), using the 20 valve motor's quad throttle bodies, and just having a plenum chamber manufactured to keep the boost in. Obviously, this will require some computer trickery to make sure everything works together properly, but I would think that it'd make some good power. It'd also make it better for future upgrades, as this is a race-only car, so it can be a bit of a peaky bugger of a thing. Quote
Jason Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 I'm reversing a Tvis FWD one. Theres a thread not so long ago, can't seem to find it. Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 first iv heard about them being crap. but id go with the 20v head anyway! if your running a map ecu then plug the sensor into the vacuum balance tube. funny looking fuel rail type thing above the injectors, the pcv valve feeds into it. Super Jamie Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 i agree the gze manifold does look pretty wierd, i think you could get better, but it would be hard without making the runners longer, which is bad for top end power humorously enough, the sc12 outlet has the same bolt pattern as a weber carburettor. the true purpose of a gze is to have a 32/36 dgv on it :D Quote
