Hey everyone. I put in a 5 speed in my ke30 on thursday night but now I'm leaking gearbox oil from what seems to be where the speedo cable goes into the gearbox itself. Any ideas how I could fix it? Don't exactly want to get a new speedo cable.

Quick fix would be some silastic (red high temp silicone) wipe the area clean, apply to the thread, and away you go.

 

is it a push and turn or screw in fitting? is it leaking from where it threads into the box, or is it leaking from the actual cable?

There's an o-ring on the body part that goes into the gearbox.

Would take about 5 minutes to replace it, but you'll have to drop the GB oil. Alternatively you might be able to park it front down on a steep hill to get the oil in the front of the GB enough, but you couldn't jack it up on that angle. Depends how low your car is.

 

Also shouln't cost any more than 50c to fix!!! :P
