Just wondering if anybody is aware of the maximum bore size that the 4k motor can be taken out to.

this is the best i could come up with from the faq, its referring to race pistons for 4K's

0.160". Apart from the fact you'll have little bore wall left and will probably crack the block the first time you rev it hard

Plus you will have endless engine cooling problems if you take it out too far, i wouldn't go out any further than you need.

Just buy a 5k!! :party:

 

They have more bracing ribs on the block as well as thicker bores.

 

i agree, like many have said before

"there is no replacement for displacement!"

 

reboring a 4k and getting pistons and ring would cost almost as much as a 5k, only difference is that a 5k has more potential.
