uiz733 Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 I need to swap a pinion flange on a BW 68 Diff. I have some concerns about upsetting pre-loads when I re-torque the nut. Any advice on the procedure would be appreciated. Quote
styler Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 check user manual for specs, i might have a look later for it. Quote
corollaart Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 Ha according to what i have ,you mark the pinion shaft ,nut and flange with a centre punch before you undo them. Then do them back up to line up ,NO further.NO less. Specs ,pinion bearing preload ; new bearings with seal 1.7Nm-3.4Nm ;used bearings with seal 1.7Nm-2.8Nm NB if collapsible spacer is used for a second time a 0.76mm shim must be used This according to mr gregorys manual hope this helps rob Quote
