dinosaur Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Hi names deano I own a 1989 cs ae92 sedan, 4afe I have had the car for three years now and over a year ago planted the 4afe in, only because it was in exellent condition, really wanted to get a 4age 100kw but @ the time none were availible. Want to change motor shortly, but need to make up my mind on what motor i want. A Black top 20v is in mind with a 6spd box or a 3sge. I know that the BT20v will fit staight in , But what else is required? and the 3sge would be a more desired transplant but not sure how hard it would be for that conversion? or what would it cost about? Here a pic of the car at present Quote
Hans Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 with the AE92, you can never go wrong with the 4AGE 20V + decent set of extractors you'd laugh while you drive it! Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 the 3s require at lot more fabrication work to even think about bolting the motor in, but in saying that it has been done quite successfully in the past, particularly with the 3sgte into both the ae82 and ae92 chassis. i would say for easy of swap and for it being cheaper on the hip pocket i would go with the 4age, but then again it all personal choice. and are you sure this is a 4afe as all the early cs sedans i have come across have been 4afc, if so it will require a little more work when doing the conversion :P Quote
