demuire Posted May 19, 2005 Author Report Posted May 19, 2005 Umm, yes I know what CVT is, and this is a little different to CVT. CVT gives you effectively infinite gears, this is like a normal gearbox, except with an (apparently) instantaneous shifting time. In the Canadian Driver article, it also mentions this As a CVT transmission has no shift points, Mini had to insert artificial gear ratios to make it seem like a real manumatic transmission. Quote
