dallaske55 Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Hi All, I'm in the process of putting a 4agze into my KE55 coupe. I've installed a T-series diff and thinking of ways of upgrading the rear suspension (hoping to use it as a road and track car). I found this thread on AE86DC. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=33 I'm wondering if the top mounting cup is different in size to the KE70 or AE86? does anyone know? The idea will be to use the coilovers for the suspension and just the top leef (of the original leef pack) as a locator for the diff rather than setting up the trailing arms. Comments??? Quote

I would be either doing it properly or not at all dude. If you're going to go to the extent of converting to trailing arms, how are you going to stop lateral movement? You'd then have to set up a panhard rod to stop lateral movement in the rear end and well, if you're going to go to all that trouble, you may as well convert it to a four link rear anyway. philbey Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Raven's right, if you're going to do it, do it properly. The leaf/coil idea is pretty sketchy. Quote
Redwarf Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Get the springs reset properly and stick some decent shockies in. I used Bilsteins and they rock. It'll do the job. It did in mine. Quote

Redwarf would know! I used TRD 8 Way adjustable rear shock absorbers and they helped out massively. I would be trying out reset leaves and either Bilsteins or Koni / TRD Adjustable shocks before going all out on a coilover setup. Cheers Fusion Quote
philbey Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) Well, you'd try that at least before you go all out on a half baked coilover setup. ;) Edited June 10, 2009 by philbey Quote
