why does my car smell of petrol?

Have you checked all the obvious places like the fuel line and the tank itself? Is the smell stronger outside or inside? Is the smell inside residule smell from outside?

 

 

best suggestion I got is to check the fuel lines & the tank, eliminate those first.

i now know why.

 

fuel pump has a small leak....into the oil.... yay... :moon: no car for the weekend

 

meanwhile my mum's rolla had a workover, timing change, and now makes double the power.

 

bloody karma.

mine leaks out the fuel cap around right hand corners :moon:

i have a fuel pump at work(off 5k) you can have.

i'm in adelaide...

 

 

mechanic is taking care of it all 2morra, and getting oil filter replaced, engine oil drained and replaced, carburetta cleaned out, trans adjustments and other things, so it should all be sweet for next cruise here.
