vagen Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 a little movement front to back is normal but if you can move them 90 deg to the crank it's time to start measuring for a rebuild. Quote
philbey Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) There's an actual specified end float value I reckon, if you have a Haynes or Gregorys manual it will tell you. I'll check this weekend for you though Edited June 26, 2009 by philbey Quote
Felix Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) Undo the big end caps and check the jounals and bearing shells for wear. If good you can retorque them. Better still plastigage them. As stated a bit of end play is normal, measure it with a feeler gauge. You should not be able to detect side to side play. Edited June 26, 2009 by Felix Quote
