if theres any 3k carby masters out there please drop a line .........i am looking for the best carby to use on a 3k engine we must use oe carbys ....she normal in use around 2500-8000 rpm any ideas ???
need input ....the small port give more low end power but flat lines at high revs and big port high end power but lower bottom end speed !!
this is for a 3k engine only running 2nd gear...2,000 rpm to 7,800 i know it all about the cam range but want from anyone ???
check your tail shaft
rear control/trailing arm bushes
if ya can't find anything take it to a tyre shop like beaurepaires, they can do some of the trouble shooting for ya
my 3k engine turns over but the lifters are not moving(IE valves)i am thinking brocken timing chain ...at first i thought it was a brocken crank ! but it works on the front pulleys and went you trun the engine over it has heeps of blow back through the air filter,i took the tappet cover off but when she turns over there is NO moving parts up top....
any other things i need to look at before pulling here out
i have just got a s/hand engine ..i have the sump off, how much movement should there be in the big ends ....i can wiggle the caps (with a baby rattle some more than others) i was told this was a runner but not 100%
how much is too much ?
has anyone got info on bottom ends ?
i have mine blocked off..but if your fuel tank has a AIR TIGHT seal the pressure build up will push fuel through the carbie and down into the engine oil .....just went through that ! it took me a month and x3 fuel pumps x2 carbie kits to work that out.....

with the 3k carby the 1 jet hole/vent is 21 (thats cool) the 2nd one is 24/vent But i have one that has a 25 in there !
is that better that standard (ie power )and what car or engine can you find them on
@ idle there is blow bye but @2,000rpm it stops....But found the Problem ,my K&N air filter is pressing down on the dump valve and the pressure in the fuel line is leaking into the pistions, then down to the sump
Can ya get a thicker head gaskets to fit a k engine ?? if so where and how much ...
got to much compression need to get it down... (but can touch the pistons or modify the head)
yeah that was my first thought....it was a new one, then it put my spare on that was good as well !

My engine is getting fuel in the oil ! I have changed the oil and put a new fuel pump on(last week) .BUT Bugger me ,i checked it today
