G`day mate, that sounds like a classic throw out bearing noise, but similar can be caused by a number of parts down there. Best bet is to jack the car high enough that you can get under it, start the car and, using a large screwdriver as a stethoscope (hold the handle end to your ear) and place the other end on the bellhousing and then the outside of the box adjacent to where the input shaft bearing is located. With a little patience you should be able to hear which bearing is the crook one.

Sorry, but regardless of which one it is(and i`m betting on the "chuckaway" bearing) it has to be replaced sooner than later.

Anyway, good luck.

what sort of noise? is it a clicking, crunching or a whirring.

have you replaced the GB fluid? if not when you drain the fluid look in the old fluid for metallic particles (looks sparkly)

they are the same thing yes

test the throw out bearing first by using the screwdriver stethoscope method and if its not that then drain the fluid and check for metallic flakes,

replace fluid (replacing GB fluid is normally a good thing to do anyway)

if its still noisy then you may need to get the other bearings checked

did you use your old throw out bearing or did you get one with the GB??

if your old one worked fine try putting it on the new GB and if it stops the noise then problem solved, if not try elsewhere

EDIT: forgot to mention that the whirring noise is usually the throw out bearing

Sounds more like an input shaft bearing than a TOB.

How much play is there in the clutch pedal? You should have a little bit, so the TOB isn't sitting against the pressure plate fingers all the time.

If you do have enought play in it then the TOB shouldn't be making contact with anything to make it spin.... and whire. Hence probl;em is probably the input shaft bearing as even in neutral this still turns.
