springersrolla Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 hey lads need some quick info as I'm buying a 4k clutch today i have a 3k flywheel that has a fresh face and has been machined, i have a k50 sitting at home and a fresh 3k motor. My question is will i have any dramas mating a new 4/5k clutch to my 3k flywheel or do i need to put a 4k flywheel on to suit the clutch? I intend on running a 5k eventually. Also any dramas with fitting the k50 gearbox crossmember to where the k40 sat i understand ill have to cut the tunnel to fit the shifter. Cheers Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 No dramas with using a 3k FW and a 4k clutch. As 5k's come from liteaces they use a different 200mm clutch plate and FW, where as 3k and 4k ones are 180mm. K50 will slot into the 4k clutch no worries. I don't know what car this is for?......but if you have a ke3x-5x and use a ke3x-5x k50 you won't need to cut the hole bigger. If you use a ke70 K50, then you will. k40 and k50 have the same cross member position also. Quote
