Evan G Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 my alternator is charging a bit low under full load, ive read somewere i can swap the insides out with a ford xe 90amp alternator? can anyone confirm this? and pick a part is having a special $15 alternators this weekend win win :D Quote
Medicine_Man Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Most Bosch alternators are very similar internally, Take some measurements and see how you go. You will have to use the same rotor and stator/rectifier out of the bigger unit. I converted mine with what I believe is camry internals just from bits off the shelf at work and it peaks at 100A fully loaded.. Quote
Evan G Posted July 30, 2009 Author Report Posted July 30, 2009 geez thats heaps! i want to know what model car i need to get the alternator out of? thanks mate Quote
Medicine_Man Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Only way to know for sure is to have a look and find out if the bits will interchange, I ended up needing a spacer on the pivot mount when I was done because the alternator stator is wider than the factory 45A bit of gear. Quote
