KE55PIG Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 ok i have researched and i only have on question and that is I've heard the ball joint has a different taper on them ???? Can this be resolved by running the corolla balljoint in there ? or does it not matter can i get away with it ? cheers Quote
KE55PIG Posted August 12, 2009 Author Report Posted August 12, 2009 i have i spent 5 hours looking for my dam answer been through over 80 od threads about them still can't find the answer i want. Which is are the ball joints the same eg making them completely bolt in upgrade ?? Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 Lower control arms from a GH Sigma can be fitted In a KE70/AE71/AE86, They give you around -5 degrees of camber and increase track by 60mm. longer tie rod ends need to be fitted once you have made this modification (apparently RA40 celica ones are the go). taken from the FAQ Balljoint should be same, you need the Press in Balljoint. if you want to be safe, I'm 99% certain the Corolla Balljoint will fit the sigma arm. But yeah, i know of 3 local KE55 that ran Sigma LCA's at one point. just bolt in. Though i remember the Crush Tube in the Bush had to be grinded down so it would fit in the crossmember. Quote
KE55PIG Posted August 12, 2009 Author Report Posted August 12, 2009 ok i must of missed that i don't think i will need longer tie rod end as the ke55 is longer anyway but i will see how i got thank you. Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 youd be suprised, i pulled some sigma arms out of a 55 and it had stock tie rods, it there where only screwed in about 4-5 turns max... don't think id trust it on that. If your cheap, go get some Tie rod tubes from a RA60 celica , they are about 20mm longer from memory. Quote
KE55PIG Posted August 12, 2009 Author Report Posted August 12, 2009 ok sweet cheers man i got a ra60 down the bak i was going to send to scraper didnt no i could usea anything for the rolla Quote
silverra23 Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 In my readings I have read that the taper is different between the corolla ball joint and the sigma ball joint. The guys running it often don't care and just jam it in there and hope for the best. The guys that do care get the taper in the sigma arms machined to suit the corolla ball joint. Quote
KE55PIG Posted August 12, 2009 Author Report Posted August 12, 2009 ok thanyou thats what i ment i might try find out if i can get the carolla balljoint in ther or something with same taper Quote

KE55PIG Posted August 17, 2009 Author Report Posted August 17, 2009 so the corolla balljoint wont fit in the hole ?? or anyother as i picked setup today but need new balljoints !! also some tie rod end or figure out how to adjust my stock ones any ideas ?? Quote
silverra23 Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Read the posts that have already replied. It tells you what the go is with tie rods. As for the ball joints, I recall reading the holes in the Sigma arms need reaming/machining to suit the Corolla ball joint. But that got said already too. Quote
