engine is going to get built for a tad more power not much tho no need to go 4age or 4agze

 

just port polish will prob do myself

 

272 cam

 

4age valve springs

 

4age bigport crank flywheel and rods

 

and aftermarket ecu

 

or twin 40mm webers or dellorto carbs on manifold from south africa and linkage kit

I think rebuilding the 4AFE is a waste of time and money and I've both rebuilt my 16v and done a 20v conversion. My 4AFE went to the scrapies when I pulled it out and it was still running fine.

 

If you hunt around you should be able to find a 16v bigport for less than it would cost you to stuff around with the asthmatic 4AFE, and it will be better out of the box than what you're talking about.

 

The FE designates that the head was designed for fuel economy. It's never going to be a performance motor unless you throw big dollars at it.

with the 4age how hard is the swap anyone done a 16v

 

i am not worrying about the cost just the stuffing around with ecu and loom etc

 

if anybody has done one in an ae95 and can tell me how hard or easy it is that would be fantastic

Nearly got my workshop all set up to go, have 4agze + spare parts - really want the engine to go into an AE95 w/sunroof & power windows - towbar'd be good too
