  1. Hey Chris, read the whole thread buddy, Awesome work on everything.. as someone else said, good to see things being done right! Love that colour orange - what is it? Did the box over your pod filter quieten down the intake noise? I was suprised at how much whine the super charger makes in kebiin's vidz. Hoping I can get mine to run quieter than that ..maybe just sound deadener under the bonnet for a start. I'm figuring out A/C,power steer and alternator wheels on my GZE at the moment (going into AE95) If only I had kebiin down here to do my wiring! :elvis: Like the guys have said already ..get some pimpin' shots down by the beach at sunset etc.. great car!
  2. Well it's been a long time since I posted. I had to move house. Took a while to set up a new garage / workshop. In the mean time my synchro's died in my daily (luckily I had a 3rd 4wd wagon and company car to keep going, but seriously.. too many corolla's now but cn't seem to let go of them) Currently put the 7AGZE on hold, doing a GZE conversion into the one with dead synchro's, looking at using an E58 box Sorry, I'm totally shit when it comes to posting pics online photobucket links to random shed/corolla 4Af,g,z,t,e stuff here: http://s1274.beta.photobucket.com/user/JedzWagn/media/gun-metal%20wagon/080220131355_zps8e846632.jpg.html
  3. All good.. guys you're both great contributors to many forums... I've learned a lot from both of you. Anyone who reads Kev's thread will see that he never went ahead with the central locking actuator ideas, didn't recommend them and certainly never fitted them in any permanent way ..and.. actually put some thoughts into developing the idea using stronger components... but for people who are interested just keep doing your research or better yet get your own hands dirty. Interesting about the ST185 drive train or any other celica E-series drive train. I noticed the original posters pic's were taken on the beach..Personally the further I walk along the AE95 journey the more I want to fit a front lsd... Just scratching the surface in terms of research.. Is it possible to keep the E57F5 gearbox and mate it up with an ST205 front LSD or MR2 LSD or any other LSD? Looking through TRD and CUSCO catalogs I can't find any front lsd's made for the AE95, but they're are made for a few cars that use either the E90 chassis or the E-series gearbox... but spline counts, diameters and shaft lengths is where the real answers lie.. Some good info here that's been replicated in a few other celica threads: http://www.st162.net/forum/showthread.php?4728-Understanding-the-Toyota-E15x-series-gearboxes-a-basic-guide-to Let's keep the focus on the AE95's and OP's thread.
  4. There's a guy in Russia who's already done the 3SGTE into the AE95 sedan... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRITdxGw4Xs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_ATcLhbQbc He has a few more clips if you search around.. I think the issue of finding a new way to operat the diff-lock isn't a major one... it's just that Kebin's the only person who's got his hands dirty and at least had a go at trying something different.. with the central door locking actuators. Someone else did a dummy up of their 4A engine with the supercharger on the exhaust side, not a complete install but at least all these guys are thinking outside the box...
  5. Wish I read this post sooner.. I had the crunchy problem between 3rd and 4th whether shifting up or down but now won't go into gear at all while engine is running. Some times synchro's work again but when this happens the clutch slips... I doubt Rob's little trick will work but it's bloody good to know!
  6. Any updates on this ride?
  7. Ancient revival: How do you reset the spring in the AFM? Do you make it looser or tighter to give a stronger fuel mixture? Also has anyone ever heard of using JB weld & mildly porting the few turbulant areas of the AFM. I was quite suprised at it's narrow square shapethe air has to squeaze through before reaching the intakes
  8. ..And finally I found the AE95 with a sunroof I was looking for. Here's what it looks like, so far... Just stripping out the wiring loom carefully in one piece. Not quite ready to drop the engine yet. Current thoughts are full body re-spray.. Also dummying up what is now going to be a fully built 7AGZE engine 1.8Ltr block with notch to clear transfer case. Oil squirters machined in Hardenend steel dowels machined into crank to fit neat into holes drilled into flywheel (prevents the 6 bolts from shearing off) Spool forged rods GZE 8.9:1 ceramic pistons
  9. Finally converted shed into a usable workshop, Here's the ramps I bought to make it easy to work under the car and drop the engine. (AE95's engine has to drop out from underneath)
  10. :y: Cool story dude ... I've slapped mine down in mud up to the floor pan and it still pulled out - they're suprisingly great. I think the 4wd drive system works excellently with the weight of the vehicle - significantly lighter than most 4wd's
  11. Thread revival - Will have to eat my words here. Well kind of.. I now own 3 of these wagons and the original one mentioned earlier still doesn't have this crunching synchro problem, but the most recent one did... Had a few more thousand km's on it. Couldn't handle shifting at high revs from 3rd to 4th or back down again.. ended up losing the whole clutch function in Thredbo of all places :bash: Limped it all the way back to Melbourne thanks to my credit card, old man's 4x4 and a trailer, now the synchro's work... but the clutch is slipping. Will eventually pull this motor and gearbox and fit a 4agze but currently working on a 7agze so... have to focus on one problem at a time. :rolls: Will post with photo's when I pull the mashed one ..hopefully get some feedback going and find some more answers.. TRD KE70 sounds like he might've been on to something. Found some interesting info here: http://www.mx6.com/forums/fe-dohc/236060-toyota-gearbox-thread.html
  12. Currently peicing up a 7agze for my AE95 Proper machining in of oil squirters etc... Will start build thread when she's coming along a lot more..
  13. Nice thread dude - keep up the good work :y: I'm currently building a 7agze to go into an AE95 got a long way to go...
  14. 4age head won't bolt onto 4afe block
  15. I take it one has to lower the whole engine and gear box out, then remove the engine from gearbox in order to get to the synchro's :hmm: Big job
  16. Does any one know if the 7afe 1.8 Litre ae92 seca sx had a larger radiator??? Coz front end is much the same as ae95
  17. There's a bullbar on ebay at the moment http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Alloy-Bullbar-suit-Corolla-4x4-4wd-AE95R-Wagon-/300523514415?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item45f898ea2f just do a search on ebay ae95 & you'll get all sorts of things from bushes to lights steering wheels & so on..
  18. Have you seen this thread? http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/34863-raisinglifting-an-ae95-wagon/
  19. Just condensation??? That doesn't sound right at all??! Never heard of milky condensation when taking of an oil cap! It should be nice gold coloured oil under there & nothing else
  20. If anyone knows of or sees one of these AE95's around with a sunroof - plz let me know. Cheers Jed Nearly got my workshop all set up to go, have 4agze + spare parts - really want the engine to go into an AE95 w/sunroof & power windows - towbar'd be good too
  21. 4wdwgn Any chance of some more photo's with a breakdown of what you've done for each photo - What you did with the yellow dots showing the mod's you'd made was great. Would be really helpful if you could do something similar for the front end, showing the brackets you made up.
  22. Update, well I've since bought an old 1st gen 4age intake & still have to find or make an adaptor plate. I'm considering making one out of phenolic resin as an insulator from engine heat as well as getting the intake chrome-ceramic coated both for looks & practicality - every little bit that helps to keep intake temps cool. I also learned that the early gen 4agze I bought didn't have ceramic piston heads or oil squirters, so I bought some ceramic pistons & got talking to the seller & for a sweet deal he ended up selling me the block that they came out of & threw in heaps of stuff he was going to part out on ebay. So now I have the bottom end I want. BTW I've decided I want the engine to go in a later model AE95 that came standard with sun roof & power windows. They're getting harder to find so if anyone sees one please let me know. Currently converting shed into auto garage. PS. How do I post pics on here? I clicked on the insert image icon & it asks for a web address (??) Is there a browser button I can use to upload pics from my own computer?
  23. Hi I'm Jed, I'm in the bayside region. I own a 4wd rolla wagon, nothin' spesh just ran cleansing treatments through fuel & oil, changed all the filters, oil air & fuel, put in new dizzy, leads & plugs, fitted used extractors from wreckers & fitted a slightly wider tyre on stock rims. Run the girl on high octane, goes verry well. Have also bought cup holders from another AE95, a dash with tacho, & a early 4agze motor.. Looking for another AE95 body with a sunroof to do a full build from scratch. BTW does anyone know if you can get jelly beans in 4 x 100 PCD?
