So my best mate just bought himself an ae82, and has realised that the fuel gauge in the dash is intermittent. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. the car hasn't been modified to my knowledge so its the stock 4A. now he's a datsun boy and I'm a rolla boy, so he's asked me to get some help.

 

Any ideas?

Faulty sender, Lift the rear seat pull the sender out and move it back and forth, If that does not fix it replace it.

i've let him know and he'll get back to me tomorrow whether that was the problem or not.

alright, the sender has been been replaced, and all was working well, gauge was working until it hit half a tank, then it dropped out to zero and wouldn't work. it only works when there's more then 1/2 a tank. :blush:
