altezzaclub Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 (edited) Unfortunately on a Toyota the throttle arm swings through the position where the shaft between the two choke linkages should go, so I can't run the stock choke cable and link the two choke systems. I'm not keen to cold start the car every morning on one rich and one lean carb, so has anyone seen twin cables around recently, or the kit that turned one cable into two? Do companies still make cables? What do bicycles do for cables?? What are you other SU guys doing?? Edited November 20, 2009 by altezzaclub Quote
altezzaclub Posted November 21, 2009 Author Report Posted November 21, 2009 OK- found that some companies still make choke cables- So if I get a twin cable made, who else would like one? The correct way to run chokes on your SUs. Quote
rob83ke70 Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 central west brakes and clutch serviced should be able to make something good :) I've got one choke hooked up. Robert. Quote
towe001 Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 Have a look under the bonnet of an old Torana, like the XU-1 model Up near the brake cylinder (top right corner) First saw the set up at an "All Holden day" and wondered what it was. First thought it was a custom set up till i saw the same thing on some of the other cars that ran triple CD carbies (Constant Depression - eg SU's) And by the looks of it pretty easy to dodge up Quote
altezzaclub Posted November 21, 2009 Author Report Posted November 21, 2009 Yeah, that's what I was looking for! I'd seen single to double cable converters, but not for years. I didn't think about motorbikes/ATVs, as they all still run carbs and there is still a good industry making cables for them. I've emailed a couple of places and will put up the prices when I get them. Quote
