Jason Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 Ive herd some mixed view on aftermarket ECUs. So are they aculy legal becuse?? I'm planning to get a wolf 3d V4 or a micrtech depending on how much i can get this wolf for. Some people say you need to lock them? I would hate to be defected on the ECU then have to get rid of it :P Quote
Medicine_Man Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 Just don't let them see your hand held programmer, hide the ecu out of sight and it should all be good, apart from that yes, the ecu has to be locked to be legal and also pass the emission laws.. Quote
Teddy Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 If you can't see it, and it looks stock, its not there. We can make it pass emition laws.. or *phone worthy coff* Quote
Clown Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 ECU's are illegal due to emmisions being changed. You can get aftermarket ecu's certed but its damn expensive. can't get defected for one as its EPA and not RWC. This is in Vic, not sure in other states. Quote
