Chief Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 hey guys I'm halfway through doing my engine conversion and i was wondering what fuel pump i should use ive heard of people using vl turbo pumps but my engine is gonna be pretty stock so i don't wanna go overboard with it and I'm using my orignal ke30 fuel tank so i need a external one cheers Quote
jason12 Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 VL pump wouldnt be overkill so i'd just go with that. Quote
Chief Posted January 6, 2010 Author Report Posted January 6, 2010 coolies thanks for the info cheers mate Quote
greenmac80 Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 i'm going to be using both the VL pumps. i have modified my fuel tank to hold the vl intank pump and i will also be using the main pump as well. just to be sure to be sure... also in conjunction with a surge tank. Quote
Chief Posted January 7, 2010 Author Report Posted January 7, 2010 ok cool i don't need an intank pump? it will be good when i eventually get the car going Quote
greenmac80 Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 nah don't need one but it works as a lift pump.... aka high volume low pressure. need a lift pump of some sort to feed you surge tank Quote
shaded_shadows_KE55 Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 Hey bloke just started my sr20 I got in ke55 and the fuel system I got going is as follows. I'm using the stock send line as my return I replaced the original return with bigger stainless steel piping that is now used as the send line. I had to modifiey the pick up in the tank to sute the bigger hose and droped it as far down in the tank as I could. The fuel lines run down the standard path between the tank and the back seat threw the floor where the fuel pump is now located (vl) I used most of the vl pump bracket aswell its placed on the outside of the car under the drivers side passangers seat then the rest is simple to get it to the motor I don't have a surge tank or any of that fiddly stuff because if you get to a quater of a tank of fuel u need more anyways hence no sence in having surge tank Quote
Chief Posted January 13, 2010 Author Report Posted January 13, 2010 (edited) so say I'm using a Vl turbo fuel pump and no surge tank is it necessary to use a intank pump? btw this is only temporary just to get it through rego before i have to go for the blue slip cheers Edited January 13, 2010 by Chief Quote
