Redwarf Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 You can make a new one out of a bolt the correct diameter. You just need someone to tell you what length it is. Quote
Chief Posted January 20, 2010 Author Report Posted January 20, 2010 hey guys thanks for the quick reply's spirit is that a part number over the rod? but yea if anyone has the size or somthing for it that would be awsume thanks for the help. Quote
toyota_ae71 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Same thing happened to me, I had a spare meter or so of threaded 10mm rod. I then measured from the inside of the slave cylinder to the clutch fork and cut the threaded rod to length, but it still wasn't quite right. Ended up making about 3 of them until it felt right to me. Cheers. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 31473-20031 Its the same for adm or jdm t50. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 31473-20031 Its the same for adm or jdm t50. Its 65mm long and about 8.5mm thick. Its rounded off on either end. Theres probably a few cars with similar ones. What stops it falling out is the groove that allows the boot to hold it near the exposed end. Quote
Chief Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 cool guys thanks for the info it helps heaps I'm gonna go try some stuff for it ill have to go look for the boot aswell it might be in it hopefully cheers guys Quote
Chief Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 hey soo i found a rod and thats all sorted but i think I'm missing the bits from inside the bell housing i have a thrust bearing a clutch fork thingo in there anything else besides the clutch and pressure plate i need inside there it just doesnt seem right and witch way does the clutch go with the flat bit not facing the engine or does it face it i put it in the only way it looked right but the pressure plate plates seem to be flat. I don't know if thats right or not but i just thought i would give as much info as i could. Quote
Chief Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 and would a fwd clutch be the same as a rwd clutch Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 hey soo i found a rod and thats all sorted but i think I'm missing the bits from inside the bell housing i have a thrust bearing a clutch fork thingo in there anything else besides the clutch and pressure plate i need inside there it just doesnt seem right and witch way does the clutch go with the flat bit not facing the engine or does it face it i put it in the only way it looked right but the pressure plate plates seem to be flat. I don't know if thats right or not but i just thought i would give as much info as i could. It goes: 1. Spigot bearing into back of crank. 2. Attach flywheel to motor with correct torque. Use a lil locktite. The stuff you can undo. Now go and wash your hands before you touch the clutch disc. 3. Hold clutch disc in place, the flatter side usually goes to the motor and the fatter side to the pressure plate. 4. Bolt the pressure plate over the top to sandwhich the clutch plate in there, using the correct torque settings. It should hold it there but not so firmly that you cannot centre it. 5. Use an aligning tool or an old input shaft from a t50 to centre the clutch above the hole in the spigot bearing. That should be it for the clutch disc and assembly on the motor side. If its a fwd to rwd conversion don't forget to fit a rwd pattern steel plate under the flywheel. before you begin. As far as the gearbox side of things, well this is a little odd at first. 1. The throwout bearing should be tapped onto its carrier slide. 2. Slide this over the input shaft with a small amount of grease between it and the shaft. Theres probably a groove in the carrier that you should fill with grease. Wipe up any excess once you slide it on as the grease can make your clutch slip if its excessive. 3. The throwout carrier has 2 small tabs on it which get clipped onto the end of the clutch fork. They are sort of like paperclips that are made from flat steel. The fork goes through the hole and out the side, with the boot filling the gap around it. Theres an indentation where the slave hits it and another clippity thing where it pivots on the little post inside the bellhousing. Thats basically it. Just bolt box to motor and drop it in. Do up the slave once its all together ot it will hold the box apart while you are trying to centre it. Made that mistake before, lol. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 fwd is same as rwd clutch. As long as you have the correct size disc for the flywheel you are using. 4ages come in 200, 212, and 220mm. 220mm is GZE and it will not fit in a t50 bellhousing. Quote
Chief Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 coolies i have all of that correct except the clippy things none of them are fully there they are broken will it still work without it or what should i do about it? and yea the clutch is a 112 it just didnt seem tight while i had it all in there. so i figure i would double check Quote

Very important, without them the fork will not move anything. I suggest ordering some from Toyota, or ring your mates and see what you can find. I'm assuming you mean its a 212mm clutch and flywheel. Good stuff. Thats the best size you can fit. Quote
