Ke70 Handbrake Issues

Featured Replies

Having some issues with my handbrake

So the passenger side locks up easy, but it doesnt on the drivers side.

I have replaced the brake shoes, and have them fitted firmly against the drum.

Handbrake cable tightens well with no shoes on too.

Going through regency monday so i need to sort this out pretty quickly.. I'm sure it wont be too hard.

(have tried tightening handbrake cables and checked that shoes are fitted correctly)

cheers for your help

Did you rip the handbrake up to make sure the drums were working when you checked everything? Maybe check where the cable splits, the drivers side one may have popped out. Or the cable on that one side may be stretched. WD40 everything. I have no real idea just thorowing out some ideas.

i agree with blzbub mate check the cable at the diff end and make sure it isnt stretched or not tensioning up properly.
