  1. Boost gauge, turbo timer and boost tee on its way 😄 tax time coming up so hopefully might have enough spare coin to get her on the road
  2. Not much to explain with this one. Hassled the owner for the last 3 years to sell this thing and never wanted to part with it then decided to sell the property. He called me first and said if i wanted it come and get it. So yeah basic run down 1965? Rt40 corona, 3 speed manual columb shift, tired smokey 2r engine, bugger all body rust and a shagged interior. :) not bad since it has been sitting for 15 years and still runs. Still undecided what to do with it :/
  3. Well done mate jeez that is committment :)
  4. Bump price is negotiable. He may even consider swaps and cash his way for an old corolla (ke20 or earlier)
  5. Progress is slow unfortunately :( have fitted a new battery and slave cylinder so its driveable at least. Need to replace the windscreen and tyres then it will be ready for rwc
  6. Hi guys a good friend of mine has his 75 capella/rx2 up for sale. 12a bridgeport engine and 5 speed manual (both mod plated), weber carby and electronic ignition, near new tyres, new kyb shocks all round. Car runs and drives really well, and comes with rego and rwc for the right price. For any genuine enquiries please contact matt on the phone number provided. Car is located at warwick in qld and asking price is $15 000 or nearest offer.
  7. Got some free wheels from work so i thought i moght get a test fit photo :) these are from a mazda cx5, and the extra width and lower prifile tyre should help with handling and looks a bit
  8. Is the swap for the new project still happening?
  9. Lol i was going to do the opposite : leave the head gasket alone and put a boost tee on it and see how long it lasts haha. But seriously i think that would be the way to go as i don't want to blow it up, plus it goes pretty hard as is
  10. You would be correct altezza, they are basically a mazda 626 turbo badged as a ford tx5. Even the VIN plates in the engine bay have made in japan stamped on them. This one has a bit over 200k on the clock so lets hope the rumors are true :)
  11. Yet another 'too cheap' to pass up oppertunity has been thrown my way yet again lol. Browsing sales pages on facebook as you do, i came across a dirty black ford tx5 for $150. Now as soon as someone mentions telstar i shut the hearing off asap, but $150 for a scrub basher didnt aound too bad. I spoke to the owner over the phone and went to check it out. When i get there i realise its the turbo model which perked upy interest a bit.....that is until i saw the state of the car. Cracked windscreen, covered in leaves and dirt, and the owners kids had decided to use the interior as a sand pit :/ to be honest i was ready to walk away there and then, and the owner obviously realised. It was at that point she said if you want it bring a trailer and take it i want it out of my yard. So long story short came back with a trailer, loaded it up, went to my mates shop and got it running and driving, cleaned it out and now awaiting more funds to get a new windscreen and get it on the road :) also i am a bit out of my comfort zone with this one as i don't usually do fwd or ford for that matter so any advice is definetely appreciated.
  12. Not much has been happening lately, except for eleanor giving me sad looks from the garage as i use the roof and bonnet to store things on. Oh eleanor has been carried on from the previous owners giving her the name
  13. yet another find for me out in the sticks :) I saw this car advertised on a local facebook sales page earlier in the year for $500, and after not being able to find the page again assumed it had been sold. long story short the supposed buyer wasn't interested in doing any repairs after inspecting it (has a few patches of rust) so the owner pmd me and offered it to me for $150 because she was moving overseas and needed it gone, so I'm the new proud owner :) its a 1977 ke30 4 door auto, rust in usual places, interior is half shagged, smells of mice and old people, but it runs and drives......but doesn't stop as the brakes need work :/ so far I have stripped the interior, cleaned the seats, carpet and repainted the scuff panels and auto surround. dash pad is next on the long list of things I need to do. its going to take me a while, but so happy to be back in a ke again.
  14. Whats everyones plans for after the show? Not sure about you guys but i wont be in any rush to get home :) although the other half might be coming along so she might get bored pretty quick :/
  15. Whats happening with rc shirts these days? I reckon its time for a make over or even some colour changes? I liked the idea of getting our rc names printed on the back too :)
  16. Very keen for this :) the ae95 wont be anywhere near ready to hit the streets but i will rustle up something cool to bring down to the meet. Definetely bringing sunscreen too its been darn hot every year i have been.
  17. Been a while since i have been able to do much to her. Had a gew spare hours this afternoon so i pulled the sump off and popped the pistons out. Still unsure whether the block is even useable, as it has had water sitting in it for a while. With any luck i am hoping to have it running after christmas if all goes well.
  18. Will be time to start organising ajd 2015 soon wont it? Hoping i wont miss the next one
  19. Hey there fellow rollaclubbers. Just a querie about air con for my 1989 ae95 sr5 wagon, it currently doesnt have air con, but just trying to work out if there is an air con setup from a similar model corolla that will fit mine? None of my previous toyotas have had air con and I'm getting a bit soft in my old age, and would be a lot more comfortable for when i need my car to take the kids anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Cheers Brendan
  20. hey there fellow rollaclubbers. during a trip to the in laws place a few months back I decided to take a different route than usual. as we were driving down a small street I noticed a little white wagon sitting in a backyard just out of sight. after pulling up and reversing a bit I noticed it was an AE95. it had been sitting for a while from what I could see so I thought there is no harm in asking. turns out it had become one of those jobs that slowly got pushed further and further down the to do list, as it had a blown head gasket. after a chat with the owner and exchanging phone numbers, 2 weeks later I picked it up for $500 and now resides at my mates place getting the engine fixed. it has 220k on the clock, 5 speed manual, tidy interior and straight body. hopefully the engine isn't too far gone as it has had water sitting in the bore for quite some time now. these are the only photos I have of it at the moment but I will take some more soon. plans are simple, get it running, regoed and drive :) will more than likely upgrade the stereo at some stage too, and possibly some nicer alloys, but getting it on the road is my main concern. anyway I thought I might show her off :)
