Usually with tyres the more you spend rhe better they handle, but being a softer compound so they don't last as long. Buy cheap tyres they last for ages but are hard as concrete so the slightest dampness on the road and any form of traction goes out rhe window. Some of the inbetween brands that you don't hear about are quite good all rounders though. Marangoni mythos and sumitomo htr tyres were fairly popular back when i used to work for superior tyres

hey guys and gals I'm just inquiring for a good friend of mine. has anyone ever seen or heard of any ms65 crowns racing in historic group n class? my friend is looking for something a bit different to race in the same class he runs his rx2 at the moment and if we can find any proof of them racing in this class previously and successfully we may consider building one :) any help would be great. cheers madke35

It would have been yeah. But the owners realised snd just parked it in their yard. Little bit of moisture damage on the crank and of course the bore, but once we got the sump off a little bit of persuasion actually got everything to free up a bit. Had a bad feeling the pistons were siezed and it was going to be a paperweight.

So i pulled the 5k apart....it was pretty messy inside but the block and internals didnt look too bad. Will still need to be honed or bored at a guess.any suggestions as to what kind of pistons to use as a replacement?

Got stuck into it a bit today. Got the old 5k out....looks like it could be well shagged (will post pics of motor and what drained out of it tomorrow). Got a bit of work ahead of me with panel/paint work and interior to be fixed up.

Soooo i got to the stage where i was going to sell the 30, but wasnt as much interest in it as i had hoped so its back on the plans. Spent a few hours yesterday rummaging through ellas spare parts bins for a few bits and pieces to help the build along. Hopefully get some time today to make a decent start on it and put some new pics up :)

What grinds my gears this not so cold weather turning my knuckles to 80 grit sandpaper...not pleasant
