ae95- wagon kid Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 hey i have had a few quotes on having my spare head ported and flowed imjust worried about taking it to someone not so good with toyota one guy can do a stage 3 port and polish and have it flowed to 280-hp or i can take it to a mate that can hand port it and do it well for free are there any good places in adelaide that specialize on toyota and are there any wicked places to get a cam reground or hard-welded cheers Quote
philbey Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 You're unlikely to find a "toyota specialist" for a port and polish, the bread and butter work for P&P is going to be v8 guys. At the end of the day if you want it to flow good HP, you need an engine builder that's going to flow bench test it. I'd go and see TW Engineering in St Agnes for this, I've used them and they're good blokes. Rodders, they fiddle with a lot of V8's but also build RB26's etx. Quote

philbey Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Yeh sorry I meant in adelaide. They've probably all done toyota work but I doubt you'll find anyone for whom toyota stuff is their bread and butter. Quote
rockinrolla Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Try bunnings, a dremel and some patience, give it a crack you will appreciate it and learn something, there are some good books about and plenty of k series heads about. Quote
