Are you joking? The first post says fronts in the rear, and you just said it again. He said fronts in the rear.

Altezzas have equal rate springs front and rear, most cars don't.

It will alter the handling of course, the fronts have a fixed load all their life while the rears are designed to handle a fully laden car as well as an empty one.

Why do Altezzas have equal rate springs? Surely any benefit they saw on doing it to an Altezza is a benefit transferable to a Rolla..?

ok the kings spring front diameter at the top is different to the bottom so i might just leave them for the front.. haha with the bcak, instead of keeping the cut springs in I'm just trying to putt the stockies back in. But they just wont go in. makes it a bit harder with a broken wrist :jamie:

it was sitting about 5 cm lower then that \/ :jamie:

Ah- 5cm lower... I see why you're lifting it up again...

The Altezza has 50/50 weight distribution and I assume that's why they equal-rated the springs. Probably figured no-one was actually going to tow a boat with four adults and 6 suitcases...

It's got suspension arms in all directions and handles like a dream, just so much better than race and rally cars I've had in the past. That's what 30years of engineering advances do.

trying to change them haha. but with no luck. can't get any other springs back in apart from the cut ones.. so I'm just taking out the stock struts and putting shorter ones on.. see if that meakes it handle better.. now to figure out how to undo the bolts in my boot..

To get the rear springs out(if there stock ones), all i do is jack the car up off the sill to let the diff drop, then undo the shocky which lets the diff get MORE travel, then yank or push the spring out, and replace with which ever springs i have be it cut or lowered, and exactly the reverse for putting stock back into the car! Hope that helps man, cheers Justin
