Wasn't there also the Corona and Liteace that used the 1c diesel.

but yeah slap a turbo on the side and plug in a bit of LPG...

Yeah did a bit more research and there were a shitload of vans and commercials that used the C series. Liteace mostly. Some of them were even turbo...

It would be intresting to learn more about the under 1 litre turbo because if you can do that what's stopin you making quite abit of power?

You probably could make some reasonable power of it, but what would you be putting it in?

 

If you put it in a Corolla that came stock with a 1 liter engine then yes, smashing idea. Otherwise, I strongly recommend looking at other ways of making power. Real bare bones performance engine tuning, that way in 12 months or however long until you can legally use a turbo, you will already have an engine that is out performing most boosted engines anyway. Smack a turbo on that and you'll be laughing.

 

Or if you just want to learn about turbo's from some reason other than performance, I would say under a liter engine is the way to go.
