Kid-Ae Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Hey guys First thing is first, finally sold the Falcon :( Next Monday i'll be acquiring an AE92 Corolla CS Hatch :D Now.. The only thing I'm not 100% happy with is the lack of power steering. For me, this isn't an issue, but for my mother it could be :laff: Sooo.. Here's the question.. What would it cost me to have power steering put in? (If it is at all possible, I'd rather have a mechanic do it than me attempt it and fook it up) Thanks guys :D (P.S. Car is costing me $1900 with a rwc and rego till the end of September. Know what is amazing? This guy is spending $1000 on work at the mechanic for the rwc this week for me :hmm:, he's cashed up and isn't looking to make money) Quote
Sam_Q Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 well if you go to a self serve wrecker you could grab the steering rack, pump and all the hoses to suit. You can call up center rd wfreckers to get a quote. Which suberb are you in? Quote
Kid-Ae Posted July 12, 2010 Author Report Posted July 12, 2010 Croydon. I'm still unsure as to whether or not this would be worthwhile yet, as i'll have to see how my parents both go with driving it (Dad just did his back again today and mum isn't physically strong anymore). Thing is, even if I do grab the parts, what am I going to be charged for installation? Hmm :( Quote
Felix Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Might just be better off buying one that already has powersteering. Quote
Kid-Ae Posted July 12, 2010 Author Report Posted July 12, 2010 Possibly. But this one is cheap, ive test driven it and its in rather good condition. Well.. I found a full power steering setup for $130 (includes everything needed) on eBay, going to pm the seller as he states that "If you require fitting let me know and will work out a good price" Hmmm.. MYSTIK[RL] Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 you also have to watch what P/S system you get, because the system for the 4afc/4afe is different to the 4age setup in the ae92. Quote
