braaap Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 I've asked a few mates about it and they don't really know. They of course taking the after market option. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on it. Am i risking my life or is it safe as houses? Anything will help. Cheers in advance. Quote
coln72 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 guess, you mean fitting wider rims to the stock centres. If so, yes I have done it a loooooooong time ago. Grabbed a pair of 13x6 Chromies cheap (made sues that the centres were welded in from the outside, not spot welded from the inside) and cut the centres out of them. Got a big drill bit and drilled out the spot welds on the Toyota rims and pulled the centres out of them. Fitted the standard centres into the wider rims and bolted them up to the car and spun them to check for alignment. Once ok, got a mate to weld them up. Not hard, just an afternoons work. Would I do it now, probably not. Quote
