Taz_Rx Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 I agree with Red, its just not really needed for an NA K. I've got my sandwich plate and cooler, just haven't got around the hooking it up as I quite frankly don't really need it either. I have had oil temps up to around 130*C but this take a bit of flogging. Basically I'm only putting it in for piece of mind at track days etc. Oh and my oil cooler is proably about a third the size of that PWR. Quote
parrot Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) I have a 13 row setrab unit fitted to my AE86. And that has overall dimensions of only 24 x 9cm. And this is run in conjunction with a thermostat take off plate. Think Automotive in the UK (Mocal Manufacturers) recommended this size as being able to cope with up to 180HP under Australian conditions. They work on engine capacity when determining cooler matrix size, and suggested this would easily manage anything up to 2 litres. They were tossing up between a 10 and 13 row cooler. I tend to agree with the other comments. If you are using it regularly in motorsport such as 6hr relays, rallying and so on I would say go for it. For short clubsprints or daily usage I wouldn't bother. Whatever, the one you have is way to big and is only going to cause you trouble. If you go here you can download their catalogue in pdf which has a lot of oil cooler tech incorporated, plus lots of shiny bits to ogle. Edited November 7, 2010 by parrot Quote
