still cruizin Posted August 26, 2011 Author Report Posted August 26, 2011 i'm having trouble getting the inner side of the tierods out, any tips or pointers?? Quote
parrot Posted August 26, 2011 Report Posted August 26, 2011 You need to buy a splitter. Apply tension on the tierod end and strike the side of the draglink, not the top of the tierod end. Quote
still cruizin Posted August 28, 2011 Author Report Posted August 28, 2011 i think i know what ur sayin, will try it tomorrow... Quote
philbey Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 (edited) no reason to take the mickey guys, he asked a reasonable and specific question. As far as brands go, you will really be limited by what is actually available, if you can find the 555 stuff, by all means take it. With the KE10's, you just take what you can get your hands on because nobody's making tie rod ends anymore. I have one of these pictured, I much prefer them to the tuning fork style that you hammer into the joint. They make an almighty bang when they release and the cheap ones are cast iron that will eventually fail. But they work. Edited August 28, 2011 by philbey Quote
still cruizin Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Posted September 1, 2011 mate, where did u get that from??? i want 1... the tuning fork splitter that i've got is cast iron and i'm scared to hold it when i bash it in case it shatters in my hand... i like my hands, wanna be able to drive the car after i build it, haha Quote
philbey Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 that's an internet pic. Most auto parts stores have them, there are cheap ones around for about 30 bucks. Even Supercrap have them I reckon. Quote
