ok i have a 5 speed gearbox that has a ke70 rear housing but i am unsure of the front half what model its from.

Its not the same as a ke55 or a ke70 as i have both of those 5 speeds and the bolt pattern for the bell housing is different.

The bellhousing has a flat section at the very top with a bolt hole.

Is this pattern to suit a 3k? Did they come out 5 speed?

Any help would be good.

I believe 3k's did come with 5speed gearbox's. could be a starlet box?

Photos would help a lot if you can get them.

 

I don't know about the early starlets but the ke10 - early ke30 only had the 4 speed.

It could be a 5 speed gearbox from a ke55 liftback which was mated to a 3k, both were standard kit.

i will have to take pics so people can see the differences
