Jesse91 Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 sup dudes, basically i have a red ke70, fixed majority of the rust over the weekend, now to priming it, I'm repainting the whole car back to grey/silver how do u think it will go with just primer over the original paint, don't have the time/patience to sit there sand the hole thing back, its just a street ke70 not wanting to make it look amazing. u think it will come up ok with just primer over the paint????? altezzaclub Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 Yep! that is the standard way of doing it. Primer is designed to stick to a previous coat. Sand EVERY bit of gloss off the original paint, not necessarily deeply, but don't miss any corners or little bits. Then over it with u'coat then topcoats. I used 320grit for that sort of work. and 400 for between topcoats & undercoat. Quote
