Id say water pump, then double check your thermostat operating temp (boiling pot on the stove with a thermometer)

You can trim the AU shrouds down to fit, common practice for torries :)

otherwise, Ford Mondeo fans are just as good and smaller.

Whats the air passage infront of the radiator like? when rock crawling you are obviously not moving in a hurry, I'd agree with raising the back of the bonnet, or atleast punching some vent holes somewhere for the hot air to go.

It didn't have a clutch fan shroud when I bought it which is why I put the twin fans on. I'm putting the clutch fan and a shroud on. It will cost me nothing so it's worth a try.

Air intake to rad is huge. Driving at 30kph cools it down really quick which is what's making me think the fans arnt flowing enough air.

Will do a water pump soon, cheap to buy and I don't know when this one was fitted or if it's original.

I would have thought if you can keep the thermos on, AND install the shroud, that would be your best bet? Clutch fan won't be doing much at lower engine speeds.

Possibly you can lightly modify the shroud to fit around the thermo fans, or space it out a little with some quality high density foam to fill the gap.

I don't think surface area was/is the issue but air speed. At 1500rpm the clutch fan feels to pull more air than the tens did. It will be tested tonight as i have to tow a Frontera through the back streets of Toowong which is ʞ©$ɟing steep.

Clutch fan worked well tonight. Towing 1400kg from Toowong to Redhill and it did it well. Temp got to 85 and stayed there. At the moment I'm happy but four wheel driving will be the ultimate test.

Just a question did you make sure the wiring is correct and did you flip the fan blade accordingly?

I put a dc in mine and as the instructions say, the fan comes out of the packet to be mounted in front BUT the blue and black wires into the relay are opposite for front mounting. it's retarded and I was over heating scratching my head for a bit
